Oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens told Congress on Wednesday that U.S. energy companies are “entitled” to some of Iraq’s crude because of the large number of American troops that lost their lives fighting in the country and the U.S. taxpayer money spent in Iraq.
So costs incurred by rapists, murderers and torturers justify their thievery, hmm interesting theory. I assume with that kind of moral philosophy Mr. Pickens has very good home security and a great many guns…

Smedley! Indeed.

This is ironic, given that the energy companies are treasonous enemies of the American people.

But as long as the people don’t twig that they will continue to encourage their kids to volunteer their labour as troops that do the corporations work for them. THe enemy is never ‘over there’ it is always really nearby.

Unfortunately, since so many of those same kids are impoverished due to disastrous MIC-inspired policymaking at the federal level, the outcome is a foregone conclusion…unless they make like their forefathers’ generation did in Vietnam and go on strike against the war from within the military. (There’s a wonderful documentary on it called “Sir! No Sir!”, which everyone simply must see. It punctures all right-wing mythology about the Vietnam war and makes shishkebob of it.)

is great, but as this shows

the poverty draft is more powerful than ever and prospects for a strike seem remote in the hoo-ha support the troops homeland.
