So we know Madonna was a fan!
PS. Should have said this sooner, as vid clips can be embedded in comments and commenters started doing it spontaneously, which is most splendid, please add clips when you get the urge.
Ynys Mon, UK.
The blog is called ten percent because of what Kurt Vonnegut wrote when remembering Susan Sontag - She was asked what she had learned from the Holocaust, and she said that 10 percent of any population is cruel, no matter what, and that 10 percent is merciful, no matter what, and that the remaining 80 percent could be moved in either direction.-
And I'm writing it because I need the therapy and I lust for world domination.
So we know Madonna was a fan!

Ugh, no.
Both Madonna and Mclaren got the idea from clubs, but she did a far superior job of it, but I can’t post it here as the embedding is disabled on any version that is at the correct speed.

Yes but MM did his a year before Madge, she was great at making club stuff into very commercial pop, MM was like a curator, Madge was a reseller. Both took advantage and were great at marketing.

Not agreeing with you. MM was crap whereas Madonna made music that I can listen to. So what that he made his track earlier, nobody heard it so it is a bit rich to imply she copied him. They both took inspiration from club stuff.

Oh, and both songs were written in 1989.

As far as I am aware MM was 89 (and reached No.1 in dance /club chart)

Madge was 90

but it is a fun song cos you can sing all sorts of names instead of her lyrics- Fred Flinstone, Hilda Ogden etc much as Erotic is really about her lust for Bill Oddie to put his hands all over her body (totally true fact, honest).

Written in 89, released in 90.
