D Day

Surely the the best way to commemorate D Day would be to hold war crimes trials for all those who perpetrate wars of aggression. Otherwise all the dead are just being disrespected by politicians/defendants having a do.

Yes, and what with all the shenanigans of recent days, surrounding this commemoration – who’s getting invited? who’s “worthy”? – selfish, powerful politicians push to get attention for a photo-op on a dais, as representives of the peace-loving democracies.

Hey Jay, I just see we have both reposted the Max Blumenthal clip! Great minds etc.

The unapologetic leaders of countries involved in various wars at the D Day ceremonies is a rather blatant and dispiriting signifier that many of the ideals of the Nazis have actually been victorious. Allied casualties were not in vain but they have been betrayed by subsequent leadership I think.

I think war crimes trials would be the best tribute to the fallen. This is excellent commentary.

    Absolutely, (and thanks).
