Q 2 N

First the IAEA postpone their report because Iran submit a document in the last few days that they now want to study, some might say this is cooperation and disclosure, war pimps…not so much-

Iran has turned over a long-withheld blueprint showing how to mould uranium metal into spheres for nuclear warheads, meeting a demand of U.N. investigators ahead of a watchdog report, diplomats said. But some diplomats said while the report was likely to say Iran has improved cooperation with a long-running inquiry into its nuclear programme, this might not yet be enough to resolve any key questions about the scope and nature of the effort. The timing and toughness of any further U.N. sanctions against Iran will hinge on world powers’ interpretation of the International Atomic Energy Agency report and a parallel report by the EU’s top diplomat on recent dialogue with Tehran.

However, western diplomats, including Gregory Schulte, ambassador of the United States to IAEA, said that Iran submitted the paper too late to show its sincerity to cooperate with the agency.

Meanwhile, never trust a man with a comb over-

The director of national intelligence said Tuesday he does not plan to make public any of the key findings of a soon-to-be-completed assessment on Iran’s nuclear program…McConnell also said Tuesday he would resign if he determined administration officials were cherry-picking intelligence to support their positions.

This is the report delayed for a year while Cheney crowbars in his lies, so firstly not much need to cherry pick, it has been rigged. Secondly nice try, after making that statement when he doesn’t resign my golly gosh that will prove it’s not cherry picked and without public release, ooh we’ll just have to trust his -Bush appointed (part of the military intelligence takeover of the agencies)- integrity, hmmm.

Then Yoshie crossposted this at Stop the Second Holocaust & Lenin’s Tomb-

Tabnak reports that US warplanes from Iraq violated Iran’s airspace around Khorramshahr nine times in the 24-hour period from 6 AM on Monday:
“تجاوز هواپيماي آمريکا به خرمشهر در 24ساعت” (13 November 2007). That is unprecedented since the beginning of the occupation of Iraq, as Tabnak notes. An ominous sign.

Update: Naj reports Ahmadinejad is on the defensive in Iran.

The “Iranian nuclear blueprints” themselves are actually useless for making bombs – and thanks to the declassification of government documents by the US and UK, there is already more detailed instructions on making bombs publicly available so Iran wouldn’t need these blueprints anyway. Hi Hass, splendid to have you drop by, (your link is wonky I reckon you meant this-

    yes?)
I had a read of that yep, US and it’s allies are determined to paint any action by Iran as nefarious, they did turn over the documents and that was after they let them see them for years. It’s hard not to feel the same game plan is being played out as was used for Iraq, official lies and spin and a lazy and complicit media helping out. But maybe this time once bitten twice shy and this new media will make itself heard, thanks for commenting, that’s what this is all about, sharing info and defusing war mongers spin.
