Hahahahahahahaha, Ok, now pay attention I won’t bore you, it’s real simple-
- Current funding approved for the war will keep it fully funded until Bush leaves office.
- To stop the war all the Dems need to do is block a spending bill, they have continually not done so (while playing voters for chumps) which results in the above funding situation. They have to date provided Bush with the means to leave office with the war continuing so he gets what he wants, no withdrawal on his ‘watch’.
- Bush is about to ‘ask’ for another $200 billion, this is not simply about a war, this is about funneling public funds and future liabilities into a warfare imperial state where no welfare or healthcare or education funding remains uncut. It is an ideological movement to destroy the idea of government looking after its citizens, of nurturing a civilisation as opposed to bombing one.
- War makes for greater profits for many corporations, they support politician’s who continue wars & aggression. Many politicians also profit from these corporation’s warfare businesses.
- Both these corporations and the government will kill and torture to achieve their objectives domestically & overseas, not to mention the daily routine breaking of the law they are engaged in.
So you are up to your necks in the shit, when this funding comes up will you say NO or will you be opening your mouth just to swallow some more?

A new front has opened in the rhetoric regarding Iran in relation to the Syria raid two weeks ago:
http://maskofanarchy.blogspot.com/2007/09/us-and-israel-accuse-syria-of.html
Links will be made, of that there is no doubt.

It’s war pimp September! I don’t think the other shoe in this has dropped yet, maybe in a bit it will ‘leak’ how the raid revealed Iran had some of the same nuke weapon kit delivered or was seeking it. That would be my guess, notice how this story is treated with such reverence because it involves Syria and N.Korea, it is for the moment side-stepping suspicion it is outright Iran war pimping. Nice curveball (to coin an Iraq faked intel pun).
And anyway what gives these fucks the right to raid other countries, jeebus.

I think one Iranian diplomat hit the nail right on the head the other day. Isn’t it about time that Israel opened its programme up to scrutiny. Maybe send some investigators in? After all, given the justification the US and Israel uses, a raid on Israel’s nuclear facilities would be entirely justified.

Oh yeah that was bang on, touche indeed. That piece in the Times- Sarah Baxter same journo who did that 3 day plan piece with all the neocon quoting in it. Is she angling for the Judy Miller award?

Egypt(!) and Syria are also moving for an IAEA resolution against Israel.
23 September, 2007 at 10:31 pm
I can see that being used as a way to discredit the IAEA- look they’re attacking Israel, can’t be trusted, taken over by islamoidofacsistos, they’re lying about Iran, they must be conspiring with them to cover up their nukes! attack, attack! (ooh look I just wrote the recipe for a whole bunch of hacks articles for the next few months).
It’s an awfully good point though, Israel does have nukes, but of course they were supplied/helped by powerful nations with veto power. And the deal was Israel is the spearhead for the empire in oil-land (and some less sane reasoning).

Wait for Al-Baradei’s “arabness” to become an issue!
These people have no shame, what so ever! But have you listened to the new yorkers commenting on ahmadinejad’s wish to go to ground zero? America’s filled with IDIOT and IGNORANT bigots!
No wonder AIPAC’s getting such an easy ride from this mass of donkeys!

Korova,
Dammit! But surely we can’t invade with just money? Unless… mercenaries?
The Democrats had better not cave on this. If they do they will have ZERO credibility left.
24 September, 2007 at 7:42 am
The Democrats didn’t want an antiwar mandate, when they won the midterm election. They hoped just for a hate Bush mandate.

Mass of donkeys!
Hmm dems, well after hearing Wes Clarke move to a position that Iran is causing all the trouble in Iraq! I think the dems (except for some notable exceptions) are simply about changing tactics not altering the imperial strategy. But the thing is ten, twenty years from now the social budget will still be being cut to pay for this war, conservatives have created a larger national debt which will always be used in ‘balance the budget’ fights and as both parties are right wing and corporate friendly this will be the stick they beat the social programs to death with, this is more than a war in Iraq, it is a war by the cruel to conform the world to their social Darwinist dream.

Renegade Eye. Wow, yeah, that stings, and its true.
RickB,
They aren’t even changing tactics, they just sound slightly tougher.

Sad that it is a race to be the warrior president, the warfare state is firmly entrenched.
