Mayday In LA

-We went to the protest with an open mind, hoping to show our support for Immigration reform, and present the goings-on to the world. What we found when we got there is that “the state” has no interest in allowing peaceful protests. They want to keep anyone protesting in a paralyzed state of fear. Scared is definitely one emotion I felt. Some people (people in this country, people in Iraq) go through much, much worse than this on a hourly basis. But for a Jew from a small town in Vermont, this experience was enough to reaffirm what I already knew: Things Must Change.

Instead of ten minutes of teevee why not try 10 minutes of coverage of the Mayday gathering in LA where the police made a show of force because, well they can. In the below clip a fox news affiliate (oh yes) shows their journos getting pasted with the cops marching off saying “double time, it’s tussle time”.

This was a show of state power to intimidate on a day that officially has been stripped of any connection to labour. As well as the american underclass who are virtually forgotten by the two political parties (daring pols may mention the middle class but working class is verboten) corporations employ migrants who have the added bonus of absolutely no protection from exploitation. This police action was to enforce this de-facto slavery. Hilariously among the youtube comments are many eejits who unknowingly use the untermenschen approach of justifying the police attack because the targets are to them ‘illegal’ humans.
